Preschool
Preschool at the The Children's Playhouse is built around our beliefs that every child needs to feel loved and secure in their enviroment. This is developed over time by consistancy and building strong connections that are essential for early learing. Children will develop a love for learing because their social, emotional, and developmental needs are being met first and formost.
Then, when we add in our paly based, hands on curriculum that is alligned with the state regulations known as the Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines (ELDGs) that focuses on the whole childs developmental needs children are excited and ready to learn! These developmental domains include approaches to learning, social and emotional development, language and literacy, helath/safety and physical development, logic and reasning, mathematics, and other age appropriate learning.
Preschool is included in the weekly tuition and children participate to their developmental ability.
Intentionality
Our curriculum and daily schedule are inentionally designed to support children while building essential life skills and independence. This starts on day one regardless of age, children are encouraged to complete age appropriate tasks. Such as taking off and putting on shoes/coats/hats/gloves, washing hands, and following simple instructions. When encouraging children through child-led activities, children develop critical skills including problem solving, team work, and working together with peers.
Universal Pre Kindergarten (UPK)
The Children's Playhouse participates in Colorado's UPK for children that turn 4 years old by August 1st the year prior to going to kindergarten all 4 year olds quilfy for 15 hours of free (state paid) preschool. Priority is given to children who are currently enrolled in care, if openings allow we would love to welcome new friends. Families are finically responsible for the required wraparound care fees.
